"Bringing a culture of remembrance into the public space is a necessity, but not easy. I am therefore delighted that with "The Labyrinth" we have succeeded in finding an exhibition format that sheds light on the prehistory that led to Hitler's seizure of power in a low-threshold, barrier-free and free-of-charge way. It is important to bring historical facts to life and thus highlight parallels in history. As the legal successor to clinics in which thousands of people were murdered as part of the so-called "euthanasia" program, the district of Upper Bavaria is particularly concerned with keeping the memory alive and actively promoting democracy. We are therefore happy to support lively and contemporary remembrance culture projects and I was also happy to take the time to visit the exhibition in Landsberg myself. Thank you very much for the private initiative to dedicate yourself to a historical topic that was only supposedly 100 years ago!"
Thomas Schwarzenberger
District President of Upper Bavaria
"The exhibition impressively conveys how this period was the nucleus of the downfall."
Alois Kramer, Denklingen

"Extremely important exhibition, not only for Landsberg, but should urgently be shown in all German cities. A historical period that is almost completely absent from the broad social discussion about the emergence and, above all, the success of National Socialism! We can learn from this: "Resist the beginnings!" Many thanks to Edith Raim and Wolfgang Hauck!"

"Very informative, objective, comprehensive, scientific. Beautifully designed. Congratulations!
It is precisely this period from 1918 to 1924 that is important to understand the rise of Hitler: this complete instability of society, of public order, with the overthrow of the monarchy, the proclamation of a revolutionary soviet republic, which by no means had our present-day democracy in mind."
E-mail from Dr. Wolfgang Roth, Hofstetten

"... Once again, thank you very much for your detailed tour of this very extensive and highly interesting installation, which is a pleasure to get lost in. Without you, we would certainly have walked past one or two of the pictures/texts, because over the years we mistakenly believe that we already know everything. Not at all!"
E-mail from Wolf Gaudlitz, filmmaker from Munich
"I think the exhibition in this format is very worth seeing, great work! Many friends of mine also found it particularly interesting. I wish you continued success with it!"
E-mail from U. Sch. from Landsberg am Lech

"Committed realization of a complex topic, open and large-scale construction, this should have more stations!"
Visitor survey, man, aged 50-59, from Landsberg am Lech
"- It was a very successful and well-attended event, and I will come back again to read as much of the texts as possible. I am concerned with the handling of image sources and their processing for the exhibition - a multifaceted topic!"
E-mail from Dr. S. W., from Munich

"I viewed the exhibition "The Labyrinth" on 29.9.2024 and would like to congratulate you on this masterpiece. The explanations of the individual themes were written briefly and precisely and did not use a lot of foreign words. The pictures with the people depicted on them were always well described. So you got a face to the names you already knew. I took almost three hours for the tour. Unfortunately, despite the wonderful autumn weather, there weren't many other people on site who were interested in this topic, and I can only speak for myself, but the trip from Markt Schwaben to Landsberg was definitely worth it. Please continue with your commitment to ensure that what happened a hundred years ago in the German Reich and later in the Third Reich must never happen again. We should learn from history for the present."
E-mail from S. J., from Markt Schwaben
"... in this way: congratulations on an extremely successful exhibition and a TOP contribution NOT FORGOTTEN. I got a first glimpse yesterday and will definitely be back to see the exhibition in its entirety."
E-mail from S. H., from Fuchstal

"The content and graphics of the information are very appealing, the artistic design of the fencing around the exhibition is very successful, the space and rooms between the thematic blocks are pleasantly large. The social structures and political interdependencies of this period are shown very clearly and make it easier to understand how National Socialism was able to gain strength, especially in Bavaria. The literary documents are also very impressive!"

"We were impressed by the open, modern concept and the professional, expert support. We will visit the exhibition again and bring other interested parties with us."
Visitor survey, man, 50+, from Augsburg
"Really trend-setting work!"
Visitor survey, man, 60+, from Landsberg am Lech

"The concept is convincing, stimulating, unusual and therefore attractive."
Visitor survey, woman, 60+, Landsberg am Lech district

"A modern concept of conveying information about a historically important period in a combination of central messages, explanations of the messages and original quotes from the time, supplemented with pictorial representations of the central messages - that was the experience. I would definitely recommend my friends to take a guided tour."
Visitor survey, man, 60+, from Bavaria
"The original quotes speak a very clear language, perhaps more clearly than the explanatory texts."
Survey, man , 60+, from Landsberg am Lech

"... first of all, thank you very much for your phenomenal work. Personally, I think your pedagogical approach of making history tangible and at least creating an irritation about the trends and events of that time AND thereby also the current trends and events was as successful as possible.
[...]
This week I was there with five classes, last week with two classes.
[...]
I made a note of the following feedback:
Excellent!
More time would have been good.
Very interesting!
Super!
Interesting!
This is exactly the time I'm interested in!
The caricatures were very impressive."
Teachers from the vocational school in Landsberg am Lech
"... The historian Dr. Edith Raim and the artist Wolfgang Hauck, both with considerable reputations, have created an excellent exhibition to mark the occasion: 100 years ago, Hitler's imprisonment in Landsberg am Lech began (and unfortunately ended) - the only time he received what was really appropriate, albeit too short, too light. The exhibition (...) is more than worth a visit."

"Even the drive [mit dem Auto] around the labyrinth was a good impression. The one or other picture or the text made us stop and think from the car."
E-mail from Markus O. from Landsberg am Lech. Note:
Markus O. drove around the exhibition in his car with permission and was thus able to show his mother, who has limited mobility, the outside of the exhibition with over 80 works of art. This opportunity was also offered to other people.

"100 years ago, but still and again terribly topical!" "Violent!"
"You shudder when you walk through it"
"Good choice of suitable perpetrators! Frightening similarities to the situation today."
"So great!!!"
"The labyrinth has an interesting concept, the posters are well designed. Good luck for the future!"
"Please number them consecutively!"
"I find the exhibition very informative!"
"So super! I am overwhelmed! "
"More topical than ever!"
"The exhibition must be preserved!"
"The exhibition should just stand still!"
"It's depressing that this nationalist, right-wing crap can be repeated."
"The FOS Landsberg was here and is also enthusiastic about the app!"
"Great, more of this!"
"Tasteless to call it a stage ..."
"Never forget"
"Great exhibition, advertise more in the press!"
"Loosely speaking - well done, not enough pictures used."
"Thanks for the great exhibition ... get more of it in the press."
"The dark time is already here again, together against it"
"Very good concept for this great outdoor exhibition"
"Cool exhibition. Carolina 11 years"
"Beautiful pictures, Laura 13 years"
"The exhibition is superbly conceived and far too important in our current political situation for it to end in mid-November. Please bring it to Munich at a central location. A. Grain"
"Why not in the city center?"
"Oh God ... when I read or watch the news today ... hope in 100 years we won't need such an exhibition about today. But I'm not sure"
